About AZ Tech Garage Door Repair

A small local operation based in Westmont, run by the technician who shows up at your door.

Who you are actually calling

AZ Tech Garage Door Repair is a DBA of AZ Tech Services LLC, based in Westmont, Illinois. It is a small operation by design. When you call, you get the person who will be doing the work, not a call centre in another state routing your job to whoever is closest.

I have spent 5 years working on garage doors, with a particular specialty in opener and motor replacement. Openers are where most of the diagnostic skill in this trade actually lives — a door that reverses, hums, or stops halfway can be a five-dollar sensor alignment or a failed logic board, and telling those apart before quoting is the difference between an honest bill and an inflated one.

How we work

Estimates over the phone are free, and they are usually accurate. Garage doors fail in a fairly small number of predictable ways, so a clear description of what the door is doing — the sound it makes, where it stops, whether the motor runs — is normally enough to identify the problem and quote the repair before anyone drives anywhere.

Nothing gets done until you have the price. If we open something up and find a second problem, you hear about it and approve it before the work happens, not on the invoice afterwards.

We carry the common springs, cables, rollers and opener parts on the truck, which is why most repairs finish in one visit. When a part has to be ordered — an unusual spring size, a discontinued panel — we say so at the door rather than after.

What we will tell you not to buy

Repair is most of our work and we would rather fix your door and be the person you call the next time something goes wrong. A broken spring on a sound fifteen-year-old door is a repair, not a reason to sell you a new door.

There are exceptions, and we are straight about those too. An opener manufactured before 1993 has no photo-eye safety sensors and should be replaced rather than repaired — that is a safety matter, not a sales pitch. A door with multiple rusted-out sections and a discontinued panel profile cannot be economically patched. When replacement genuinely is the better spend, we will show you the numbers on both options and let you decide.

Licensed and insured

We operate under AZ Tech Services LLC and carry general liability insurance. If your village or your homeowners association asks for a certificate of insurance before work starts, we can provide one.

The service area

We cover Westmont and thirteen surrounding towns, all within about twenty minutes. That radius is a deliberate choice. Plenty of companies advertise the whole Chicago metro and then take two hours to reach you; we would rather cover less ground and actually mean it when we say same day.

Tell us what the door is doing

A quick description over the phone is usually enough for us to tell you what has failed, what it takes to fix it, and when we can be there. Estimates over the phone are free.
