Woodridge incorporated in 1959 with fewer than 500 residents and grew steadily westward for the next forty years, which gives the village a clear east-to-west age gradient. The older eastern subdivisions date from the 1960s and 1970s; Seven Bridges and the developments beyond the DuPage River are 1990s and 2000s.

That gradient shows up in the work. East of the river we are mostly dealing with equipment that has aged out — original springs, worn rollers, openers on their second or third decade. West of the river, in Seven Bridges and the newer streets, the doors are younger but the garages are larger, and the calls lean toward opener upgrades, insulation and matched multi-bay replacement. The townhome stock across the village adds a steady stream of single-door work of its own.

The garages we see in Woodridge

Predominantly attached two-car garages on 1960s through 1990s subdivision homes, with larger two- and three-car garages in the newer western half beyond the river, and a substantial townhome stock with single doors.

About 25% from the 1970s, 21% from the 1980s, 18% from the 1960s and 15% from the 1990s. Under 4% predates 1960.

Work here splits fairly evenly between repair on the older equipment and replacement on the newer and larger garages. We quote both where it is a genuine question, so you can see the arithmetic rather than take our word for it.

Neighborhoods and areas we cover

We work throughout Woodridge, including Seven Bridges, Farmingdale Village, Winston Hills, International Estates, Cedar Hill and Bristol Court. If you are near the Seven Bridges district and golf club or Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, you are well inside our range.

Woodridge has no Metra station, which is part of why the garages here are what they are — towns developed around the car rather than the train have larger, more consistently attached garages.

We serve both halves of Woodridge, from the older subdivisions off Janes Avenue to Seven Bridges. Call and we will tell you what the door needs.

Garage door questions from Woodridge

Do you charge extra to come out to Woodridge?

No. Woodridge is inside our standard service area — about 15 minutes from our base in Westmont — and is priced the same as anywhere else we cover.

How quickly can you get to Woodridge?

The drive is about 15 minutes in normal traffic. For genuine emergencies we do our best to be there the same day, and we will give you a realistic window on the phone rather than an optimistic one.

My Woodridge home was built in the 1980s. Is the original door worth repairing?

Usually yes, if the panels themselves are sound. Springs, cables, rollers and openers are wear items and replacing them on a structurally good door is far cheaper than a new one. Replacement starts to make sense when the door is over twenty years old, more than one system needs work at once, and the panels are rusted or damaged.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We operate as AZ Tech Garage Door Repair, a DBA of AZ Tech Services LLC, and carry general liability insurance. If your village or HOA needs a certificate of insurance, we can provide one.
