Lombard has the most evenly spread housing stock in the area — no single decade dominates, which means we see the full range of garage door vintages here in a way we do not elsewhere. The village went from about 6,200 residents in 1930 to over 22,000 by 1960, and the postwar subdivisions from that boom are still the backbone of the town.
The Eastgate developments are a good example of why this matters. Eastgate Meadows went up in 1958, Magic Circle in 1961, Bunker Hill in the mid-1960s — and these homes were marketed on their modern amenities, attached garages very much included. Those original attached garages are now sixty-plus years old. Most have been through two or three openers and several sets of springs, and the ones that have not are exactly the calls we get.
The garages we see in Lombard
Heavy on postwar ranches, split-levels and tri-levels with attached one- and two-car garages. Older streets near the station have detached garages on smaller lots, and there is a meaningful townhome and condo share near Yorktown.
The flattest housing profile around: roughly 19% from the 1960s, 18% from the 1970s, 17% from the 1950s, with about 9% predating 1940.
Most of what we do here is repair — springs, cables, rollers and openers that have simply reached the end of their working life. When replacement genuinely is the better spend we will say so, but on this housing stock a good repair usually wins.

Garage door questions from Lombard
Do you charge extra to come out to Lombard?
No. Lombard is inside our standard service area — about 18 minutes from our base in Westmont — and is priced the same as anywhere else we cover.
How quickly can you get to Lombard?
The drive is about 18 minutes in normal traffic. For genuine emergencies we do our best to be there the same day, and we will give you a realistic window on the phone rather than an optimistic one.
My Lombard home was built in the 1970s. Is the original door worth repairing?
Usually yes, if the panels themselves are sound. Springs, cables, rollers and openers are wear items and replacing them on a structurally good door is far cheaper than a new one. Replacement starts to make sense when the door is over twenty years old, more than one system needs work at once, and the panels are rusted or damaged.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We operate as AZ Tech Garage Door Repair, a DBA of AZ Tech Services LLC, and carry general liability insurance. If your village or HOA needs a certificate of insurance, we can provide one.
